Kids 'N' Komics

Kids 'N' Komics was established in 2016 at The Foundation for Blind Children in Phoenix, Az by, Our founder, Kris Newto. Kris' vision was starting to deteriorate and he had to relearn how to live independently with his new vision loss. After attending the school, Kris wanted to give back in a very unique way. He launched our firstKids and Komics workshop. During this event the kids got to write their own stories to be turned into real comics with help from local talented artists and voice actors.  Inspired by our first event, we now offer classes to the general public, kids and adults, and teach them how to write, create, draw, and set up their layout for publishing their own graphic novels/comics. 

These classes are offered over a course of six weeks and the kids collaborate with other student artists and writers to brainstorm, write drafts, collaborate, and once completed, each student has their own completed comic. 

In the past we have done all out classes in person, but due to Covid and the surrounding issues, we are currently looking into offering the classes online. Stay tuned!
